Involvement with Western International
Education Abroad Participant & Western International Volunteer
Why I chose Western
I chose Western because of its strong emphasis on experiential learning and the many international opportunities it offers. These aspects were important to me, as they allowed me to gain hands-on experience while broadening my global perspective.
A favourite memory of my time at Western
Some of my favorite memories at Western are the spontaneous moments—late-night study sessions that turned into deep conversations and celebrating big wins at school sports games with friends.
An accomplishment I’m especially proud of
One accomplishment I’m especially proud of is completing an internship in Sweden, which helped me earn Western’s Global & Intercultural Engagement Honour. It was an incredible experience that broadened my perspective, strengthened my ability to work in diverse environments, and reinforced the importance of global collaboration in health care.
A fun fact about me
My favourite campus snack is the popcorn at school sports games—nothing else compares.
My plans for after graduation
After graduation, I’ll be working abroad on health promotion projects, focusing on improving community health and expanding access to resources. I’m excited for this opportunity to apply what I’ve learned and make a meaningful impact. In five years, I hope to be in a career where I can make a meaningful impact in health care, whether through research, clinical work, or policy. I’m excited to see where this journey takes me.
One last thing
I’m incredibly grateful for the experiences and people I’ve met at Western. This journey has shaped me in so many ways, and I’m looking forward to what’s next!
